Holiday Lookbook Pt. 1

November 27, 2017

Hey loves!

How was your Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it)?

Well, during the holiday baking and last minute grocery run, I thought, “I’ve finally mastered the crucial holiday art of being cute but comfy!” Let’s be real, some of us want to be cute when we gather for the festivities, but nobody wants to encounter the all-too-familiar feeling of bloating in fitting jeans or a tight dress. It’s like we have a choice between uncomfortability or showing off the food baby. No worries. Here’s how I defy the odds.

Tops

  • Loose-fitting sweaters are everything. They’re super cute in a homey way, can be combined with almost any accessory or bottoms and they’re perfect for not-too-cold-not-too-hot weather. Most of all, they’re comfortable and hide the after-meal effect.👌🏾

Bottoms

  • High-waist jeans/pants do work! You see, the band sits at a higher, thinner spot on your mid-section, not cutting into your future food baby, and they tend to hide bloating, accentuating attractive curves.

Shoes

  • I’ve got one word for you...boots! Whether we’re talkin booties, Timberlands, over-the-knees, etc., boots look good with everything. Do you understand me? EVERYTHING. And they’re comfortable!

Accessories

  • Because you’re dressed partially for comfort, accessories are going to tie the knot. Throw on all the goods: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, all that. Why? Because your accessories will dress up your casual fit a bit and make it look like you really tried when actually, you’re chillin like a stuffed villain.

Yes? No? Did this help at all? What do you dress for at holiday gatherings? Comfort or style?

I’ll add another look later.

xoxo.😘
